]]>One word: Pizza. Everyone LOVES pizza, right? No matter what kind you like, there’s something for everyone person to love. There’s gluten free pizza, vegan, and your straight up cheesy originals. So what’s this have to do with anything? Well, I decided it was time to explore which three pizza places of Iowa were the top ones in the entire state.
I had the chance to talk with food expert Adam Heater. Heater, a food reviewer gave me his opinions of why these top three delicious places deserve a final spot.
#1 Leon’s Pizza – Webster City, IA
Heater stated that, “their sauce is so insanely good I feel like I could drink it.” Wait, what? If that has THAT good of sauce, then it for sure makes the top of the list. Heater also went into detail about how, “it’s always my first stop when I make a trip to see my grandparents. It’s a cute town with amazing pizza.” You have it right their folks, Leon’s pizza is so great it has drinkable sauce.
#2 Winn’s Pizza – Indianola, IA
Now, I have heard of this place but had asked Heater to talk a little bit more about why he thinks it’s the best. “I’m not usually a big fan of the crusts on pizza but I think I could eat a whole bowl of Winn’s crust, it really just tastes like bread out of some fancy bakery,” Heater said during our interview. First of all, who doesn’t love scrumptious, carb loaded bread? Second of all… Can I order some ASAP? It’s not just the pizza that Heater loves about this place. “It just has great small town Iowa hospitality,” he exclaimed. If you love crust, this seems like the place to go.
#3 Twisted Pizzeria – on SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA
Alright, here we go. A Des Moines, IA pizza shop… Aka it’s located right in the heart of Iowa! Heater explained that “I feel like it sort of embodies Des Moines in a way because so many of the pizzas are just really funky and weird, but they’re all so good and that just feels like Des Moines to me, the like progressive and innovative spirit that I feel from the city.” This is the kind of pizza places to go where it embraces our society, and all of the Iowans who live here! One thing Heater loves, is the fact that this place is FRESH. “My favorite thing about Twisted is that all of the meats for their pizzas are smoked behind the restaurant, so you know that they aren’t getting shipped in or even bought at the store and put into the freezer.” Can we just stop a moment, and say uh… YUM! Fresh products are the best and you know you’re getting it right there. #Nomorefreezerburns!
After chatting with Adam Heater, I realized that Iowa has a ton of great options for pizza. Before I had only heard of the general pizza shops like Blaze and Fong’s. I personally would’ve added Fong’s to the list, but if you want good ole’ fashion pizza then these are the places to go. ]]>Tis’ the season for binge watching Christmas movies on Netflix! I started gathering a list of Christmas movies to watch and have only watched a few, but I have some pretty good reviews on them. Many Christmas movies have the same plot lines: a woman falls in love with the “good guy” and then there is the evil woman who tries to get between them. While I know this plot all too well (and all of the holiday movie watchers do as well), but I still go back to watch them. Why? Because they’re a feel-good, romantic Holiday movie. Alright, let’s cut to the chase. What are some of the best movie watchers to watch with your gal-pals, your significant others, or your favorite sibling? Well here ya go:
Happy movie watching everyone! Watch out for more posts over my entire Christmas movie selection that I’ve watched… Coming out New Year’s day. Have a wonderful and safe Holiday.
